Equality Objectives

All academies in the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust are committed to ensuring equality throughout the school communities.

Our aim statement is that:
"We provide a safe, supportive Christian environment for all the community, where we work together to be successful learners."

Our Commitment to equality is that:

  • All learners are of equal value
  • We recognise and respect difference
  • We foster positive attitudes and relationships, and a shared sense of cohesion and belonging
  • We observe good equalities practice in staff recruitment, retention and development
  • We aim to reduce and remove inequalities and barriers that already exist
  • Society as a whole should benefit.

Our full equality statement is available on our Policies page here.

Ryton-on-Dunsmore's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Objectives

From our findings we have decided on the following objectives, these will be regularly reviewed and we will continue to audit using a variety of approaches.

  1. To actively promote a school culture that values, respects, and celebrates diversity in all its forms - including gender, sexuality, race, and religion - by raising awareness and fostering appreciation through inclusive practices and a supportive environment.
  2.   To improve outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those who are disadvantaged by raising awareness, providing targeted support, and narrowing achievement gaps, ensuring that every pupil can make strong progress and reach their full potential.
  3. To embed the importance of good attendance across the whole school community, recognising it as a key factor in ensuring equal opportunities for pupil engagement, academic achievement, and personal development.
  4. To maximise opportunities and achievement for all pupil groups - including those of different genders, sexualities, races, religions, and pupils with SEND - by ensuring equitable access to extra-curricular activities and curriculum enrichment that support personal growth, engagement, and academic success.
