There may be circumstances where the school needs to provide remote learning for pupils. This could include:
- School access is restricted due to a full or partial school closure, or restrictions on attendance.
- Individual circumstances where a pupil is unable to attend school for a period of time but is well enough and able to continue learning at home.
The school will use a blended approach to remote learning, ensuring that provision is appropriate to the age, needs and individual circumstances of pupils. Remote learning may include a combination of:
- ClassDojo – teachers will use ClassDojo to communicate with families and make appropriate learning activities, resources and work available for pupils to complete at home.
- Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) – pupils will be encouraged to use TTRS regularly to practise and develop their multiplication and division facts, supporting our whole-school focus on mathematical fluency.
- Online learning platforms and resources are selected by the school to support learning across the curriculum.
- Workbooks, printed resources or learning packs are provided by school where these are more appropriate or where access to technology may be a barrier.
- Individualised activities and resources, where appropriate, including reasonable adjustments for pupils with SEND.
We recognise that pupils' circumstances and access to technology may differ. The school will therefore work with families to ensure that remote learning is accessible, manageable and appropriate, and that pupils are able to continue engaging with their education wherever possible.
Parents and carers will be given information about how to access remote learning, including any work made available through ClassDojo and the use of TTRS for maths fluency practice.
The school will always have regard to current Department for Education guidance and will review its remote-learning arrangements in response to any updated national or local guidance.
